GarageBand

ince it was our first time using GarageBand we had to look at a couple of tutorials on how to use it before starting.





These were just 2 of many trailers on youtube which provided beginners like myself easy steps on how to use GarageBand effectively.

Creating the soundtrack for our trailer has been particularly hard; the changing pace throughout the trailer means that the music had to fit and finding the right sound to do that has been difficult.

I's and 1's

For the I’s and 1’s we had a specific signifier in mind. We created custom fonts so that the “I” in Incision and the 1’s in the release date were scalpel shaped in a red font colour.

Reflections

During the early stages of editing we found that a lot of our shots couldn’t be used. The final scenes of our trailer showed the detective walking up to his home. What we hadn’t noticed at the time was that the cameramen’s reflections could be seen. We had to rectify the problem quickly or risk having to do a complete reshoot of the final scenes. By using the low and high angle shots we’d taken, as a precaution, we were able to solve the problem and use more of the scenes we hadn’t planned to use but we captured at interesting angles.

Full The Last Airbender trailer

A number of trailers have been released for this film. Speculation of a movie adaptation of the successful animated show didn't strike confidence in many fans, many mocking the cast that had been chosen. This new trailer, however, seems to give the show justice and a darker more "realistic" look, with the violence and action that wasn't present in the tv show.
As a fan of the original series, i noticed that the scenes from the trailer follow the events of some of the show. I suspect this film may be one of many films in the series depending on success and fan appeal.

Wandsworth City Learning Centre

We went to WCLC to learn how to use Photoshop, and create our magazine covers and posters. This was very useful and I learnt more skills in using the program improving on the basic ones I had gained from previous experience with earlier versions of Photoshop.
This is the first draft using Photoshop for our poster and magazine cover. While at the WCLC we stuck very closely to the plans we had created as a group before going on the trip.

Imovie 9

We used this software to edit our teaser trailers. It let us cut and edit clips, add transitions add photos, for custom title logos and at when all editing was done adding the soundtrack was quick and easy.

Shooting Plan

This is the most important step before filming, it helped us organise our time accordingly. The shooting plan was an essential piece of planning it involves taking note of; locations, shot days, shot times, what is going to be shot, characters in the scene, and a lot more. Without this it is very easy to make mistakes and you may not realise until it's too late.
